The closing day of the 2017 Melbourne Festival will be a celebration of diversity beginning with performances from emerging musicians from Australia’s refugee and Indigenous backgrounds, the perfect bookend to our opening ceremony from the land’s First Peoples.
For over 10 years Multicultural Arts Victoria’s State of Culture Music Program has launched the careers of many Australian artists. Our Place, Our Home features some of their most stimulating new talent alongside leading figures in music, highlighting rare and underrepresented styles and generating some of the most exciting musical creations to date.
